Volunteer Program
Our planning season for the 2012 season is well under way and we’ve started emailing you for ways in which you can get involved. If you aren’t receiving these emails and want to sign up, please fill out the form below.
For Feb/Mar*, these will include:
- marketing sessions (dropping flyers in selected neighbourhoods)
- greenhouse fieldtrips to start some of our seedlings (outside the city)
- local seed starting events (in the city)
*Limited volunteer positions available for Feb/Mar.
As the gardening season nears (April/May), we’ll have a few larger events as we prepare the gardens and get our operations ready for another year of growing. Specific events include:
- construction of a hoop-house
- new garden “ground-breaking” events
- composter construction days
- seeding/planting days
- and more!
For May through the summer months, we’ll have regular volunteer hours at each of our gardens. We are looking for energetic volunteers of any age to join us as “Gardeneers” to help with planting, weeding, watering, and harvesting. As a Gardeneer, you will have the opportunity to learn from other gardening and local food enthusiasts, get hands-on gardening experience, and have first priority access to our exciting workshops. More details will be posted on how you can get involved.
To get involved or find out more, fill out the contact form below or get in touch with our Volunteer Coordinator, Madeline, at: madeline@cultivatetoronto.com. Hope to see you in the gardens!
