Cannin’, Preservin’, & Herbin’ Workshop! [SOLD OUT]

YUFCSA is proud to introduce its second free summer workshop – Cannin’, Preservin’ and Herbin’ – taking place on Thursday July 22, 2010 be- tween 6:30 p.m. and 8:30 p.m.

Now that summer is finally offering up its tasty fruits and veggies, why not capture that seasonal flavour year-round? This hands-on workshop will teach you the basics of preserving and herb drying. Create a vegetable pickle, a simple fruit jam, and an “herbs-de-provence” bouquet that you can crumble when dry.

This cooking workshop will also be hosted by one of our garden owners who even happens to be a Cordon Bleu trained chef! Joanna Sable is the owner of a brand-new predominately local canning company called Bumpercrop. Joanna will take the fear out of canning and show us just how much fun it can be!
